Friends of Salusbury School (FoSS) is Salusbury Primary School’s Parent Teacher Association. A registered charity, FoSS is led by an elected parent committee who work closely with the School to build a calendar of social events and activities to raise funds to improve the school environment, equipment, and community.

Recent fundraising events include Quiz Night, Rock and Roll Bingo, International Evening, Christmas and Summer Fairs, Cake Sales and a team of parent and staff runners entered into the British 10k Run. We also regularly assist school/community-led initiatives such as new starter picnics, music concerts, sports day, school trips, book swap, special visits, equipment for school clubs and activities and learning focused weeks (such as arts, science, refugees, maths, international, literature etc.) by donating money and/or sourcing parent volunteers to help out.

In the last couple of years, FoSS has additionally funded improvements to the playgrounds including the redevelopment of the early years’ playground into a Forest School outdoor learning environment, areas of astroturf to soften the concrete playground, play equipment, Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and floor painted playground games.

Most recently we have donated money to purchase an LED Lights and PA system for school productions, improve the acoustics in the canteen, making it a more usable space for the school and the wider community, build a covered outdoor classroom in our wonderful Greenspace and restore our focal piece whale mural in the playground which was originally painted as part of the school’s centenary celebrations in 2001.

We also work closely with our sister charity Salusbury World who are based at our school, helping to promote each other’s work and support, however, we can, including assisting to raise the funds needed when Salusbury World was under threat.

Camerons Stiff has been the main sponsor of FoSS for many years now and we are very grateful for their generous contribution to our main events each year.
